Persphone Wisteria
Mysterious Mouse

Persephone Wisteria, Mysterious Mouse
By Mary Jardin Wimberly-2007

Persephone Wisteria, Mysterious Mouse is the second of my magical nature mice-a small mohair mouse with a huge mission. Although only 5” tall, her springtime dance lures the shy violets and all other spring blooms from under the ground out into the light of Day!

She is a OOAK jointed with a wobble neck, has an ultra-suede tail and foot soles. Her pale peach ears are of made of wool felt with airbrushed edges. She has a needle sculpted, trimmed and plucked face with an embroidered nose, mouth, and paws. She is tinted with a touch of lavender which with a fuchsia nose gives her a slightly unearthly glow (a throw back to her fairy ancestry). Hand-painted glittery light blue eyes with leather eyelids are alight with the excitement of spring. Persephone’s flyaway lilac topknot of hair also reveals her fairy roots. Her body is filled with glass beads which add that extra weight and droopability factor.

Silk ribbons trail behind Persephone’s Wisteria floret and lilac head piece. Her purple tulle tutu is blooms with Lilac florets at the waist and is finished with a floral “Obi” of Wisteria and Lilacs at her back. She heralds spring with an expressive violet garlanded dancing wand. The wand is used as both a baton for leading the flowers into the springtime march of new life as well as doing the happy jump rope dance of spring.

Persephone Wisteria was made with love for Karen by Mary Jardin Wimberley in the winter of 2007.
